DESTINATION DETAIL

Dalat

Da Lat is one of the most interesting and attractive destinations for any Vietnam tours. Vietnam holiday fun seekers often give the feedback that only by forgetting all the things you've known about Vietnam can you enjoy some real fun in this town.

Up in the central highland of Vietnam, Da Lat was first found by Dr. Alexandre Yersin and soon became the most favorable holiday destination among Europeans. Today, everybody here will be smitten by the comfortable alpine climate and the romantic French feel, as evident in the Eiffel-Tower-shaped radio mast.

Famed as the City of Eternal Spring, Da Lat is blessed with the perfect climate. Romantic lakes and a booming flower industry make Da Lat the honeymoon capital of Vietnam. The man-made Xuan Huang Lake curves east from the city center, the hazy and foggy mist comes up over the lake every morning, helping creating a friendly production place for flowers and awesomely romantic setting for the lovers. The cleanly fresh air and abundant cafes captivate more and more foreigners, especially French and Italian. Bao-Dai, the last Vietnamese Emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty, built up his summer palace in Da Lat and nowadays some sadly yet dramatically romantic stories about him and his wife Empress Nam Phuong can still be read from every corner in the house.

Vietnam tours reveal something quite different in Da Lat, because it's really hard to tell where you're, a noname little town in Northern Europe or a time-flash-backed French colonial administrative center? You might've known a lot about this country from books or movies, but everything loses its meaning while you're swinging in the pine tree forest sound.

We are the professional and devotional Da Lat tour operator. And we take your every need and interest into consideration while tailoring up your own Da Lat tour for an ideal Vietnam vacation.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

1. Getting there & away

The region has three main airports – Dalat, Buon Ma Thuot and Pleiku. You can reach them all from HCMC. From Hanoi you can only fly directly to Dalat; for the other two you’ll need to fly through Danang. There are no trains servicing this region.

By road you can access Dalat via Hwy 20 from HCMC or Phan Rang. Hwy 14 is the main north-south route, passing through Buon Ma Thuot, Pleiku and Kon Tum. Pleiku is connected to the coast by Hwy 19, which hits Hwy 1A near Quy Nhon. Similarly, Buon Ma Thuot can be reached from Ninh Hoa, just north of Nha Trang, by Hwy 26. There are frequent buses on all of these routes, although only Dalat is served by open-tour buses
