Day 1: Phnom Penh Arrival (L, D)
You will be welcomed at the airport and transferred to hotel for
check-in. After short rest, visit the main sights including the Royal
Palace, Silver Pagoda, National Museum, Wat Phnom, Tuol Sleng Genocide
Museum and Central Market. Dinner and overnight in Phnom Penh
Day 2: Phnom Penh – Siem Reap (Roluos Temple Complex) (B, L)
This morning, take a short flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, transfer
to hotel. After lunch you embark on a visit of the Roluos Temple
Complex. The complex represents the remains of the first major capital
of the Khmer empire, and comprise of following principal monuments:
Bakong, Preah Ko and Lolei. The evening is free at leisure. Overnight
in Siem Reap.
Day 3: Angkor Thom – Angkor Wat (B, L)
After breakfast, visit the Southern Gate of Angkor Thom City, the Royal
Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Terrace of Elephants, Terrace of Leper
Kings and the jungle - clad Ta Prohm. After lunch, continue to discover
Angkor Wat. You have most of the afternoon to visit and wait for the
sunset from Phnom Bakheng. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 4: Banteay Srey – Big Circuit (B, L)
After breakfast, you head to the exquisite Banteay Srey (“Citadel of
the women”). The visit is combined with the discovery of Banteay Samre.
After lunch, visit Ta Som, Neak Pean and Preah Khan. Return to Siem
Reap city and enjoy the massage. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 5: Tonle Sap Cruise (B, L, D)
After breakfast, visit Chong Kneas Village, you will then take a boat
trip to visit floating villages on Tonle Sap which is a huge lake of
Indochina. After lunch, you will be free for shopping and self
discovery. You will gather up at 6:00pm for a dinner with an Apsara
dance show. Dancers, singers and musicians bring ancient Khmer culture
to life in spectacular surroundings.
Day 6: Siem Reap – Luang Prabang (B)
After
breakfast, transfer to airport for flight to Vientiane. Upon arrival,
you will be met and transferred to your hotel. After a short rest, you
visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham, Wat
Mai; you then climb up to the top of Mount Phousi to explore the
sacred, gilded stupa as well as capture a beautiful view of the city
and the watch the setting sun as it is reflected on the Mekong River.
From there, you visit the Night Market. Overnight in Luang Prabang
Day 7: Luang Prabang – Pak Ou cave – Khouangsi Waterfall (B)
After
breakfast, you enjoy a short-guided tour seeing the city’s oldest
temple of Wat Sene, the magnificent Wat Xiengthong. You then board a
cruise upstream on the Mekong River to visit the mysterious of Pak Ou
Caves. Along the way, you stop at the small village of Ban Xanghai. You
return to Luang Prabang in the afternoon, on the way we take a short
drive to Ban Phanom. In the afternoon, Continue your excursion toward
Khouangsi Waterfall, en route, you visit local villages of Lao ethnic
minority groups at Ban Ouay, Hmong Village, Ban Ou, Laoloum Village and
Ban Thapene, Khmu Village, then drive to the beautiful Khouangsi
Waterfall. You return to Luang Prabang by late afternoon and continue
to Ban Xangkhong. You return to the city by late evening to observe the
sunset at Wat Phabath. Overnight in Luang Prabang .
Day 8: Luang Prabang – Xiengkhouang (Raod) (B)
After
breakfast you visit the National Museum (close Tuesday) at the former
Royal Palace then leave this charming town and drive to Xieng Khouang,
an area once devastated by American bombings between 1964 and 1973.
These back roads are a great way to explore the real Laos. The drive is
very long, but we can make many stops at our pleasure, to stretch our
legs and take some wonderful photographs. In the afternoon there will
be time to see the old capital of Muang Khoun Province and its' nearby
villages.
Day 9: Xiengkhouang – Vientiane (flight) (B)
After
breakfast, transfer to visit the Plain of Jars. In the afternoon there
will be time to see the old capital of Muang Khoun Province and its'
nearby villages. We then board our short flight to the charming and
fascinating Lao capital Vientiane. On arrival we check in to the hotel.
After short rest, you will visit the Morning Market and the weaving
village of Ban Nong Bouathong.
Day 10: Vientiane – City Tour (B, L)
After
breakfast, we see the major sights of the capital; including the
oldest Wat Sisaket and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo. On the way
to Lao’s national precious heritage, you stop en route to take some
pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument. Afterl lunch, transfer out
to see the Buddha Park. A spectacular view of over the Mekong River at
sunset is a perfect way to finish the day.
Day 11: Vientiane Departure (B)
After breakfast, take free time until transfer to the airport for our departure flight.
